Those books have claws.
These are my latest sketchbooks.
I think when i made the covers for them I was inspired by Harry Potter. there was that book with claws, do you remember? Of course it looked waaay different but this was what I had in mind when making the claw book covers.
The first one was the green fur book. The false fur used to be the lining of a coat I wore when i was little.
The claw actually is the closure. There's a press stud under the claw so the book is closed securely.
The rose fabric is baby cord fabric I also used for a skirt.
